Heal, Embrace, Flourish!

Hi there, I'm Dr. Heather Wright.  I have a master’s degree in mental health counseling and doctoral degree in clinical psychology, and have specialized training in

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

DBT is based on four main pillars of mental wellbeing: mindfulness/self-awareness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness (building healthy relationships). As a DBT practitioner, I don’t just teach these skills to adolescents and adults, but I live them out in my life as well.

In my work with clients, we will try to identify behavioral patterns that are no longer effective for them, and replace them with behaviors and beliefs that will create the life they would like. Many of my clients are adolescents and young adults, which creates opportunities for growth within the family system and independence. I strongly believe in the importance of laughter while focusing on strengths during the therapeutic process.

I am passionate about a few things in my life: family, great interior design, dogs, and excellence in psychotherapy; I engage with activities in each of those areas pretty much daily. Creating an independent practice enables me to cultivate the specific client experience that matches my values and esthetic.
